October 2011

With record-breaking sales in September, Hyundai has achieved its most successful month in Australia since the brand first arrived Down Under in 1986.
The automaker sold 7,508 new Hyundai cars last month, holding a market share of 8.6 per cent. In particular, Hyundai dominated the light car segment, with its Hyundai Accent and Hyundai i20 models accounting for a combined 15.2 per cent share of this market.
According to Damien Meredith, director of sales at Hyundai Motor Company Australia, the marque will now "look forward to a robust last quarter of 2011".
He said: "A strong passenger car sales result for September is very pleasing and reflects the success of our recent new model introductions, including Hyundai Elantra and Hyundai Accent."
One highlight for the next three months will be the rollout of the Hyundai i40 Tourer medium-sized wagon, he added.
The first of the new Hyundai i40 cars - which were designed at Hyundai's headquarters in Russelheim, Germany - arrived on Australian shores at the end of September. The Hyundai i40 cars are now available for a test drive at our Sydney Hyundai dealership.
The Hyundai i40 Tourer will be available in three trim levels and feature top-of-the-range standard safety features, including nine airbags, LED daytime running lights, vehicle stability management and electronic stability control.
In addition, its on-road performance has been calibrated with Australian driving conditions in mind.
