It has been confirmed that the 2012 Hyundai Veloster will also see the debut of the marque's new turbo engine. While the Hyundai Veloster is due to hit Australian shores early next year, it is still uncertain when the turbo engine will be available - although predictions indicate it won't be until the second half of 2012.
Hyundai recently unveiled the new 1.6 litre engine - which it also plans to use in the Hyundai Accent - and sees the car benefit from a twin-scroll turbocharger, air-to-air intercooler, direct injection and variable valve timing.
The Hyundai Veloster is said to be available in a six-speed manual or six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, with a range of customised looks also on offer.

The turbocharged Hyundai Veloster will make its global debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show in January.
Hyundai Australia are already featuring the car on their website, encouraging fans to use a mobile phone app to test drive the Hyundai Veloster before it arrives in the country.
